LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police arrested a Louisville man on multiple charges after they say he hit a car, fled the scene, then defecated on the ground.

Officers were called to the location of an accident where a suspect allegedly fled the scene and was attempting to leave the scene of another. According to a police report, James Murphy, 49, rear-ended an SUV on Bardstown Road then took off from the location.

A witness driving a cab followed the subject and used an "in-dash" video to record the entire incident. The cab driver then pulled behind Murphy and Murphy backed into the cab.

The police report says Murphy then got out of his vehicle and defecated on the ground and in his pants.

Murphy stated to the officer that he had been drinking and had consumed "a lot" and he stated he consumed "seven or eight or maybe more" drinks at the bar. Murphy stated that he was "drunk" and would "fail his test." The report says Murphy could not follow instructions and could not keep his balance.

Murphy has been charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and an unstated violation.
