WINSLOW, Ind. (WHAS11)—A man is arrested after police are called to the residence for a domestic dispute.
Police said that on Tuesday they were called at 11 p.m. to 104 South Bluff Street in Winslow for a domestic dispute with shots fired. Upon arrival police entered the residence and found Christopher Morton, 32, in the kitchen holding a handgun in one hand and a beer in the other.
Police said Morton was tased when he refused to put down his weapon. Morton was taken into custody without further incident.
Officers continued their search of the residence and found the victim, Kelsi McDonald, 24, in the living room, shot and unconscious. CRP was initiated by officers and emergency medical personnel were notified.
The victim was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The couple’s 3-year-old daughter was also in the residence at the time, but was unharmed and is now with other family members.
Morton was arrested for murder and taken to the Pike County Jail and is being held without bond.
