Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Police say a Louisville man hit, pushed and kicked a 76-year-old woman and then stole her car.

19-year-old Demekus Townsend is charged with robbery.

The victim told police that Townsend came up behind her while she was unloading her car on Dixie Highway and Garland Avenue on November 2nd.

That's when police say he struck her in the head, pushed her and kicked her several times while she was on the ground.

Authorities say Townsend then took her car keys and ran over her right foot.

Police were able to track down Townsend after another car-jacking incident and used fingerprints to ID him.
