CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A woman was taken to the hospital Sunday morning after police say she shot herself during a standoff.
Upon arriving to the 700 block of Cumberland Way, Campbellsville police discovered Marlene Bell was armed and refused to comply when officers directed her to surrender her weapon and exit the residence.
After officers were able to safely remove a male from the residence, the standoff continued until around 6 a.m. Sunday after Bell called 911.
Bell was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time. Police are continuing to investigate.
