LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police arrested a convicted felon after a report of shots fired on West Broadway.
According to a police report, a responding officer on the scene heard a "plink" sound by her ear as a shot was fired. The responding police officers then heard 7-10 more shots while looking for the suspect.
The report says a silver Grand Am in the parking lot continued towards an officer head-on even after the officer gave loud verbal commands for them to stop. The vehicle was unable to get out of the parking lot because of all the cars.
According to the report, officers then asked the suspect to show their hands but the suspect pointed a black handgun at an officer, then tossed it out the window.
Police say the suspect Brandon (Lamar) Towns, 20, is a convicted felon.
Towns was charged with first degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
