LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS) -- "And in this corner... Cassius Clay" is a familiar opening line to old boxing fans and is the title of a new play about the childhood of "The Greatest", Muhammad Ali.

The play focuses on Ali's roots in Louisville, Ky. in an attempt to keep his local legacy alive.

Stage One is teaming up with the Ali Center and Jefferson County Public Schools and as a part of that partnership, about 25-thousand JCPS students will see the play.

"And in this corner... Cassius Clay" definitely has a local flavor, as the actor cast to play the young Ali is from Louisville. Justin Cornwell went to Eastern High School and studied theatre at the University of Louisville.

Beginning in January, the play has 41 scheduled performances at the Kentucky Center. Anyone who purchases a ticket to the play will also receive a discount at the Ali Center.
