ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- A pipe manufacturing plant is planning a move to central Kentucky with the aim of opening in the spring of 2010.
The Elizabethtown News-Enterprise reports that WL Plastics Corp., will open a manufacturing plant in Elizabethtown that includes about 40 jobs in management and production.
The company makes smooth-wall polyethylene pressure pipe, which is used in applications such as water, sewer and irrigation systems. The company operates plants in Wyoming, Utah, Texas and Alberta, Canada.
Rick Games, president and COO of the Hughes Industrial Park foundation, where the plant will be located, says the company has been looking at the area for about five years and purchased the land in 2008.
