WASHINGTON CO., Ind. (WHAS11) — Indiana State Police have arrested a Pekin man on charges of possessing child pornography.
Police arrested Isaac William Schmitt, 25, Tuesday afternoon. The investigation began after a tip was relayed to officers from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, of a person allegedly uploading child pornography to an internet account.
The investigation led authorities to Borden, Ind. where the suspects place of employment was located.
Police spoke to Schmitt there and then they went to his residence on East State Road 60. Police conducted an initial search of his personal computer and he was taken into custody.
He was taken to the Washington County Jail where he is charged with possession of child pornography and child exploitation.
