MEMPHIS, Ind. (WHAS11) --  Clark County authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed on Jan. 9 in the 14010 block of Memphis Blue Lick Road in Memphis, Ind. at a Pilot Truck Stop.

According to officials, the man was hit, and his body was found by the scales portion of the parking log.

The man was identified as a truck driver by the name of Billy R. Evans, of Hill city, Minn.

According to witnesses, Evans was seen by other truck drivers walking his dog.  Police say Evans had receipts in his pockets indicating he made purchases from the Pilot Truck Stop at 8 p.m. and that workers located him lying in the parking lot shortly after 8 p.m.

Police say they have not found any witnesses who say the incident. Surveillance videos have been viewed and nothing showed that part of the parking lot, officials say.

At this time police do not have any information on the vehicle that would have hit Evans.

Evans’ dog was located and arrangements are being made to get the dog to Evans’ family in Minnesota.
