LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – It’s been three months since the Parkland Community Garden opened and Councilwoman Attica Scott invited the community on its progression.
The goal is to encourage healthy living and eating by teaching people in urban neighborhoods how to grown their own fresh food.
“We live on Hazel Street, we’ve grown up in the Parkland community and just to see the revitalization going on and interested neighbors, it’s wonderful,” resident Mary Agnew said.
Now that the community garden has proven its success, volunteers are expanding it to add 6 new raised beds.
There are also talks of doing the same thing in the southwest part of district one.
