(WHAS11)-“The board of trustees resolves that the above named person for counts 1, 2, 4, and 5 shall be dismissed from the PRP Fire District.”
With those words, Robert Danny Heil became the former PRP Fire Captain.
The PRP Fire Board made the decision after several hours of deliberation and heated testimony from both sides.
Throughout the hearing Christopher Glass, the defendant, detailed multiple incidents of harassment by Heil, including one occasion where Glass says Heil put a white pillowcase on his head and a white sheet around his body and stated quote “it’s dark now, it’s KKK time.”
In the proceedings, Heil said he had no recollection of the incident.
Heil’s attorney, Thomas Clay, says they are disappointed with the outcome of this hearing, while Vanessa Cantley, Glass’ attorney, hailed the board’s decision in an emotional statement to WHAS.
“I’ve seen what Chris has gone through over the last few months.  He’s a good man he was hurt and it’s unfortunate that things like this happen in 2009/2010 and hopefully this sends a message that this will not be tolerated, at least not here,” said Cantley.
