BUCKNER, Ky. (WHAS11)—Oldham County opens its first dog park.
The park, named the Elizabeth Cleland Cauley Dog Park, is located is Buckner and has been in the works for several years. The project did not getting much attention until donations began to flow in.
The park cost around $10,000, of which $4,500 came from the foundation of Elizabeth Cleland Cauley, who died in February of last year.
Donations helped cover the cost of fencing the park as well as pet waste stations.
The land was previously part of the Wendell Moore Park’s softball complex. The county will continue to mow and maintain the land of the park.
