WASHINGTON CO., Ky. (WHAS11) - The State Medical Examiner's office has identified a person that was found in  a car fire, that occurred in the parking lot of the Springfield Reservoir on Booker Road, in Washington County on Aug. 1. 

The body was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Ray Pendygraft of Loretto, Ky.  The positive identification was made through DNA testing. 

Dispatch notified Kentucky State Police at 7:48 a.m. EDT, Aug. 2, and said that a Washington County Sheriff's Deputy was on the scene and a body was inside the car. 

The burned vehicle, Pendygraft was found in, was a 2009 Dodge that belonged to his father, Larry Pendygraft, also of Loretto.

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.
