MUNCIE, Ind. (WHAS11) – A police officer stopped to help a man who said he locked his keys inside his trunk and found himself without a cruiser.

43-year-old Kevin Clark flagged down a Muncie, Indiana police officer in a store parking lot Saturday morning.

The officer agreed to help Clark get his keys out of his trunk but said he needed to run inside the store first.

When the officer returned, his cruiser and Clark were both gone.

Clark was later arrested and charged with auto theft.
