LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Norton Healthcare and Thorntons are teaming up to create awareness about breast cancer.
Norton Cancer Institute brought their mobile unite mammogram screening to the Thorntons on South 3rd Street on Wednesday.
The life-saving initiative was made possible by a $100,000 grant from Thorntons to Norton.
The screenings are for women between the ages of 40 to 75 who have not been screened in the past year.
The mobile unit will be at the Thorntons Cane Run Road location on July 16.
Jefferson County residents without insurance can have a free mammogram.
The mobile unit travels almost every day of the week throughout the city.
