NORTH VERNON, Ind. (NEWS RELEASE) – Around 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening, Oct. 25, officers from the North Vernon Police Department arrested a North Vernon man on a conspiracy to commit murder charge.

Officers earlier in the day received information that led to the investigation of the illegal activity.  After about a seven hour investigation Daniel Rogers, 45, of North Vernon was arrested on a preliminary charge of conspiracy to commit murder.  During the course of the investigation officers were also able to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the 100 Block of West Walnut Street.

Daniel Rogers is currently being held at the Jennings County Jail with no bond under the charge of conspiracy to commit murder.  Officers attempted to interview Rogers on the allegations, but he requested his attorney be present.

During the course of the search warrant of the residence in the 100 Block of West Walnut Street yesterday, Detectives were able to recover computer equipment along with miscellaneous paperwork related to the investigation.

After a judge’s order earlier today, Daniel Rogers is still currently housed in the Jennings County Jail under a $300,000 bond.

This continues to be an ongoing and evolving investigation.  More information will be released in a timely manner as it becomes available.
