(WHAS11) -- The controversial No Child Left Behind Law could soon be a thing of the past for Kentucky and Indiana schools.
President Barack Obama is expected to announce he's exempting ten states from some of the law’s mandates. A white house official says Kentucky and Indiana will receive a waiver from the federal government, but they must set new goals for improving student achievement.
Under the current law, all students must be 100 percent proficient in language arts and math by 2014.
