LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Getting from the Muhammad Ali Center to the Belvedere got easier on Friday, April 5, with the opening of a new pedestrian bridge.

After a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday morning Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, Muhammad Ali Center President Donald Lassere and Kentucky Center President Stephen Klein took the first steps across the walkway.

The goal is to give pedestrians a safe walkway across Sixth Street and increase foot traffic to Main Street and the Waterfront.
