LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- New Albany criminal justice students were treated to a live demonstration of drone surveillance technology on Friday.
Mel Flaget, a local distributor of the Skywatch Hugin unmanned aerial vehicle flew the drone around the Prosser Vocational School’s soccer field while recording live pictures.
The students also listened to a presentation about how the technology can be used in more mediums than military, but also by local emergency responders and investigators.
Flaget said the drones can be used to find lost residents, among other things.
“We can do that now without putting anyone in danger to see what’s on the other side of the wall, what’s in the room, what’s over the hill,” he said.
