NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WHAS11) – The family of a child burned in a January New Albany house fire is receiving more good news.
5-year-old Tat’yana Hughes is expected to be released from Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis on Wednesday.
Hughes is expected to stay with her grandmother and continue rehab once a week.
Police say 18-year-old Cody Cashion fired a flare gun into the Ely Street home on January 4 while Tat’yana and her siblings were sleeping. They died in the fire.
Three other teenagers face charges in connection to the case.
