New Albany Police seek help in finding robbery suspect

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WHAS11) – New Albany Police seeks the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a convenience store Monday night.

Officers say a man walked into the Sav-A-Step Food Mart in the 4000 block of Grant Line Road and asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes. When the employee returned to the counter, police say the suspect pulled out a gun and demanded money.

According to police, the suspect got away with some cash and fled from the store.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He appears to be in his late teens to early 20’s with a thin moustache, 5-feet-10-inches and weighing about 150 pounds.

Police also say the suspect was armed with a stainless steel semi-automatic handgun
