(WHAS11) -- Despite a larger police presence in the area, neighbors remain fearful after a Louisville man engaged in a six hour standoff with Louisville SWAT on Friday.
Police arrested 24-year-old Krystopher Rayborn of Louisville in connection with a six hour stand-off that took place on South 41st street on Friday. Rayborn is facing 11 different charges including evading police, assault and possession of burglary tools, cocaine, and marijuana.
Residents on South 41st Street said their neighborhood is much quieter, but fear is still high.
“I'm actually scared myself living out here in this world,” said Calvin Small.
Small moved into the neighborhood a week ago and says he is scared for his family’s safety.
LaJuan Morgan lives next door to 316 South 41st Street where the 24-year-old barricaded himself inside.
“There were two guys shooting at each other. One guy shot and hit this fence where the daycare is,” said Morgan.
LMPD has increased their patrol, but neighbors say it takes a whole village to raise a child and that’s what it will take to make their streets safer.
One woman who did not identify herself said,” We need more men of all colors and all races to get out and contact these young men that are running wild with no father figures in their lives.”
