N.Y. nanny accused of leaving toddler in car to shoplift

 LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (WHAS11)-- A Long Island nanny is accused of leaving a toddler alone in a hot minivan while she went into a target store to shoplift.  

Christine Nunes, 37, was arrested and charged with petty larceny and reckless endangerment.
 
Police said she left the 3-year-old girl in the backseat of a locked minivan with the windows rolled up. Someone saw the child and called police.
The child was treated for dehydration before being released to her father.
