(WHAS11) – Cory Booker hasn’t been sworn in yet but the New Jersey Senator-Elect is already moving forward with his support of same sex marriage.
According to BuzzFeed, Booker plans to officiate at the weddings of at least 10 same sex couples at Newark City Hall on Monday.
The weddings will come after midnight when a new court ruling goes into effect.
A New Jersey judge ruled last month that the civil unions already legal in the state didn’t go far enough because they prevented couples from getting federal benefits.
It’s in an appeal process though right now.
