MARKLE, Ind. (AP) -- State Police say a northeastern Indiana teenager has died after being shot in the head during an apparent gun-cleaning accident.
The 18-year-old Wells County boy died from his injuries Sunday afternoon at a Fort Wayne hospital where he had undergone emergency surgery after Saturday's shooting.
Police believe the teen was cleaning guns with his 19-year-old friend Saturday afternoon at a home just outside Markle when a .45-caliber gun the older teen was handling fired, striking the 18-year-old in the head.
The Journal Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/YmRaeb ) police say the shooting appears to be an accident and no arrests have been made.
The names of the men have not been released.
