LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Ike Chivers was gunned down in West Louisville eight years ago. His murder remains unsolved, but his sister is pleading for the community to get involved to help solve this cold case.

“ I still think about it every single day…every day I wake up every night before I go to bed just wishing and hoping that someone would just open up if they know any information,” Chivers’ sister, Juanita, said.

Chivers was shot once in the head in an alley near 43rd and Market streets on Jan. 20, 2005, around 6 p.m. after he left his sister’s house.

His family hung a memorial sign at the spot he was killed Sunday afternoon to honor Chivers.

Chivers’ family said police did recover the murder weapon, but that’s where the trail of leads ends. Anyone with information is asked to call 574-LMPD.
