MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A rash of car break-ins are alarming residents in the Wilchur neighborhood in Mt. Washington.

Money, prescription drugs, and a hand gun are among the things missing.  Police do have people of interest, but have not made any arrests.

Police estimate more than 10 cars have been broken into, and say most of the vehicles were in the driveway unlocked.

“I believe a thief is gonna hit no matter where you live,” said Kevin Lurie, a Wilchur resident.  “People are always looking for an easy way to get a dollar.”

Police want to remind people to lock their cars.  If you have information about the crimes they ask you call 911 or 543-7074.
