LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The mother of a 20-year-old who was involved in a crash today with two police officers is defending her son.

It happened at Eastern Parkway and Keswick Boulevard in Louisville.

Police say the officers were on duty and in an unmarked police van.

They were going east on Eastern Parkway when police say the 20-year-old driver of a Toyota turned in front of the officers.

His mother says that’s not the case.

"Once it hit him, he was really shaken up because it pushed the car almost up to this tree and he was on that side of the car and was really shaken up," she said.

The officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The 20-year-old was not hurt and there’s no word if charges will be filed.
