ST. ANTHONY, Ind. (AP) -- State police say a 4-year-old southern Indiana boy reported missing died at an Evansville hospital after he was found floating in a rural lake.
Police were summoned Friday evening to a home in the DuBois County town of St. Anthony on a report of a missing boy. But by the time state troopers, sheriff's deputies and Indiana Conservation officers arrived the child had been found in a nearby lake.
State police say Kai Neukem was given CPR and taken to a Jasper hospital before being flown to St. Mary's in Evansville, where he died early Saturday.
No autopsy will be conducted, but state police are investigating Neukem's death as a drowning.
