BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WHAS11) – City crews have taken down 20 large signs seeking information about the disappearance of an Indiana University student more than two years ago.
The signs scattered across the city came down last week in a decision by Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan.
The signs were initially supposed to be taken down after IU’s graduation in May but firefighters decided to renovate them and the city decided to keep them up for another 6 months.
20-year-old Lauren Spierer vanished in 2011 after she was seen leaving a bar.
No trace of her has ever been found.
