Milton-Madison Bridge's final phase to begin Friday with closures

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—The final phase of the Milton Madison Bridge construction is expected to being on Friday.

All lanes will be shut down on Friday, March 14, until the following Friday.

Traffic will begin to be reduced on the bridge starting on Thursday at 9 p.m., to get equipment in place.

This will be a historic event, as the half mile bridge will be the longest bridge in North America to the slide laterally into palce.

Motorists will be able to use the Markland Locks and Damn Bridge or the Kennedy Bridge in Downtown Louisville as detours.

The Milton boat ramp will also be closed to the public during the times the bridge is shut down.
