(WHAS11) -- Metrosafe dispatchers say a young boy was bitten by a dog in the 1700 block of Gaulbert Avenue near Louisville's Park Hill neighborhood.
According to Margaret Brosko of Metro Animal Services, the dog is a Shetland Sheepdog (also known as a Sheltie) and will be kept on a 10-day quarantine period at the dog owner's home, which is standard procedure in any dog bite.
The extent of the child's injuries have not been released. A friend of the family who was at the house owned the dog.
No criminal charges are expected at this time.
