SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- MetroSafe has confirmed they were asked to assist in a water rescue.
The rescue was at Tapps Pay Lake located on Shelbyville Road. Crews were able to save the man and he was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with minor injuries.
Chief Ronnie Sowder with the Simpsonville Fire Department said the man's boat was sucked under while he was cleaning a drain, pinning him under the boat. He said the man barely had his head above the water.
A firefighter was also taken the a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
