LOUISVILLE, Ky – Metro Council unanimously passed a new ordinance designed to make it tougher to sell stolen goods to pawn shops.

The ordinance expands requirements already in place on secondhand medal dealers.  Pawnshop brokers must submit a list at 11 a.m. every day of the items they bought in the last 24 hours.

It must include a copy of a person’s drivers license, and a photo of the item.  If you do have a Kentucky drivers license, it will require a thumb print.

"It will help police return precious items taken,” said Councilman David James.
