LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - - Metro Louisville will put up $500,000 to help redevelop Whiskey Row.
Wednesday the Metro Council Committee voted to approve the Mayor’s budget.
They said they strongly support redeveloping the buildings on Whiskey Row and want to make a $500,000 investment.
They also approved money for The Louisville Zoo.
The council is also allocating $400,000 to help the city deal with abandoned buildings and vacant lots. On Thursday the full council will vote on the budget.
The city is contributing $500,000 toward that fund to be matched dollar-for-dollar by a private donor. The first project to receive a loan from the fund will be the Whiskey Row project on Main St.
