LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A man, 36-year-old Joshua Ayers, is accused of taking money from a person he was booking while he was employed by Louisville Metro Corrections on Oct. 3.

On Oct. 3 Ayers was booking the man and logging his property, when he instructed the man to stand in position to be scanned when Ayers picked up the man’s property and cash from a table and entered the scan room, according to a court document.

Police said when Ayers returned to the table he put the man’s property back on the table with out $100.
According to police the incident was caught on surveillance camera.

The man did notify officers he was missing $100, according to a court document.

Ayers is employed by Louisville Metro Corrections as an intake officer. He is charged with official misconduct and theft by unlawful taking.
