WHAS11 News has learned that Louisville Metro Police are now investigating McMahan Fire Chief Paul Barth.

Metro Police tell us it is a public integrity investigation but cannot release any details at this time.

Meanwhile, the Fire Protection District Board was expected to discuss 18 disciplinary charges against Barth Monday night but that meeting has been postponed.

Barth has been suspended among allegations of improperly using fire department equipment, leaving the department unmanned and not paying department bills on time.

Barth has been with the McMahan Fire Department for 35 years.

No date has been set to reschedule the meeting.
