LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Senator McConnell is now inviting President Obama and his administration to visit Kentucky to see firsthand what McConnell calls a war on coal.
"The Kentuckians I spoke with were truly worried about the Obama Administration's War on Coal Jobs. They've seen the devastation in Eastern Kentucky, and they know what the president's newest regulations will likely mean for middle-class families like theirs,’ McConnell said.
McConnell made those remarks on the Senate floor on Wednesday, July 9, in Washington D.C.
He said he hosted a tele-town hall with people from across Western Kentucky this week who said they are worried about Kentucky’s coal jobs and skyrocketing utility bills.
McConnell addressed the president by saying campaign trips can wait and visit Kentucky.
