JEFFERSONVILLE, Ky.-- Dennis Scoles was laid to rest in Jeffersonville, Ind. on Monday.
Friends and family gathered still stunned that Scoles is gone.
“He's brought so many people together in his life and he's even really done that in the death. He's brought people together,” Pastor Mike Kleitz said.
Police said Scoles was gunned down outside his Highlands home on Rubel Avenue last Thursday around 1:30 a.m. His roommates discovered his body hours later. On Monday there was no talk about the crime, loved ones just remembered Dennis.
His mother Diane Scoles penned these words.
“This is a just a shell. The last time you saw Dennis with hugs and kisses and laughter was the last time you saw him. His spirit is with the Lord. His memory will be with us forever,” Kleitz said.
Police have not named any suspects. In the meantime, the family wants answers. They want to know who killed their son, their brother, their uncle, their friend. And they want the community to know that Scoles was more than just a news headline or the subject of an obituary.
“Those of you that are here today that knew Dennis know that his life was much more than was contained in those few short words,” Kleitz said.
If you have information concerning this crime, you are urged to call police at 574-LMPD.
