HARLEM, N.Y. (WHAS11) – Police are questioning teenage parents after a baby was left out in the cold in Harlem.
Michael Allen was closing his curtains Sunday night when he saw an abandoned stroller sitting in the playground just outside his apartment.
Something didn’t seem right and he went to check it out.
Allen discovered the four-month-old baby boy wrapped in warm clothes but completely alone.
“He was really dressed warm, really alert, really fine. There was formula down there -- seemed like he was packed up, he was packed up and wrapped very well," he said.
Allen flagged down a fire truck that was just pulling in to the station across the street.
Firefighters took the baby inside the station and then paramedics took the infant to the hospital.
The baby’s parents, both 18, turned themselves in to police Monday morning.
So far, no charges have been filed.
