LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Authorities are investigating a man’s death after he fell from a boat near New Albany Sunday afternoon.
Conservation officers say two fishermen were aboard a runabout boat near the K&I Bridge when the motor struck an underwater object causing a man to be thrown overboard.
Officers say the man quickly resurfaced as was assisted back into the boat but later lost consciousness.
A boat from the Louisville Fire Department and a recreational boat helped the victim, transporting him to the New Albany boat ramp to perform CPR.
He was taken to Floyd Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The name of the victim has not been released.
