BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) – The man charged in the murders of four people last spring has now made his first appearance before a judge on murder charges.
56-year-old Samuel Sallee appeared in a Bartholomew County courtroom Tuesday via video conference.
After the judge read the names of the victims, he asked Sallee if he understood the charges. Sallee answered yes.
Sallee is the only suspect in the May murders of one woman and three men at a home in Waynesville, Indiana.
He has been behind bars since shortly after the murders on federal gun charges.
He was charged in the deaths in December.
Sallee has denied killing the victims and says they were all friends.
Investigators say drugs were involved in the murders.
