JEFFERSON CO., Ind. (News Release) -- A Madison man was arrested Sunday evening after his one-month-old succumbed to his injuries Saturday at Kosair Children's Hospital.
At approximately 9 p.m. Sunday, Indiana State Police detectives arrested Christopher Coy, 30, of Madison in connection with the death of his one-month-old son.
On Thursday, the one-month-old was rushed to Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison and then life lined to Kosair Children’s Hospital where he died Saturday.
An autopsy revealed his death was the result of blunt force trauma to the head.
Detectives have been involved in an ongoing investigation which culminated with the arrest of Coy Sunday evening.
Coy is being held in the Jefferson County Jail in Madison on a preliminary charge of neglect of a dependent resulting in death. Investigators say additional charges could be filed later this week.
