BARTHOLOMEW CO., Ind. (News Release) -- A high speed pursuit early Sunday morning on I-65 resulted in the arrest of a Columbus man on multiple charges.
Around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, police noticed a 2001 Lexus driving erratically and weaving from lane to lane on S. R. 46. The vehicle entered I-65 northbound then sped up to approximately 90 mph as the trooper activated his emergency lights in an attempt to make a traffic stop. The driver then increased his speed to approximately 140 mph as he continued northbound on I-65.
The Lexus exited at Exit 80 (Edinburgh exit) and lost control at the bottom of the ramp at S.R. 252. The vehicle went into a field where it became stuck.
Police arrested David A. Miller, 25, of Columbus without further incident.
Miller was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he is facing charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle (Class D Felony), driving while intoxicated (Class D Felony), reckless driving, and speeding.
