SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (WHAS11) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a car crash involving a drunk driver which led to one man being ejected from a vehicle.

Police say the accident happened just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday night when 29-year-old Timothy Carney lost control of his Chevy pickup while traveling south on Mount Zion Road due to ice on the roadway.

According to police, the vehicle traveled up an embankment and overturned.

33-year-old Nathan Carney, who was also traveling in the vehicle, was ejected from the pickup and trapped when it came to rest.

Carney and his other passenger, 24-year-old Aaron Moore were not hurt.

Police say Nathan Carney was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville with non-life threatening injuries.

Timothy Carney was arrested and charged with DUI in the second degree.
