LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- An anonymous tip has landed a Louisville man behind bars, facing animal cruelty charges.
Police were tipped-off about the treatment of four dogs under the care of 37-year-old Abe Jeffries.
During their investigation, police said they found the dogs on fixed point chains without adequate shelter.
Police also said they found paraphernalia used in dog fighting - heavy chains and vet supplies to treat wounded animals.
Two of the four dogs showed signs that officers said indicated they were used to fight.
Jeffries is charged with eight counts of cruelty to animals and a possession of marijuana charge. He was also wanted on a flagrant non-support warrant.
