LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Parents and students voiced their concerns at a Male School Decision Making Council meeting Monday night.
Students from the school accuse Principal David Mike of asking students to lie to investigators from Kentucky’s Department of Education. The school is being looked into after students claim staff gave them answers to the ACT Compass Test, which measures a student’s career and college readiness.
One of the members of the SBDM Council, who is also a parent, told Mike how the allegations make him feel.
“Knowing that these allegations are out there,” Ben Wyman, a council member said. “It presents a person issue in that now all of a sudden sitting around this table with you – I tend not to trust what you’re saying.”
Wyman’s words were met with applause from the audience.
“Unfortunately there is an investigation that is going on that’s open,” Principal David Mike said. “We are not allowed to comment until after the investigation.”
Parents who spoke with WHAS feel disheartened, and upset they did not leave the meeting with more answers.
The next meeting of Male High School’s Decision Making Council is June 16th.
