LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Louisville Cardinals were on top of their game beating Rutgers by 48 points. Even guys who might not normally see much playing time scored, like David Levitch from North Oldham.

February can be a grind for college basketball teams, so Coach Pitino had an idea, wanting them to have fun.

So, they decided not to shave.

The idea caught fire with two teammates last year. Both Luke Hancock and Stephan Van Treese didn't shave during the NCAA title ruin . . . and look where it got them, a championship!

Now, the whole team and even the coaches aren't shaving.

Russ Smith worried about too much hair. On the flip side, David Levitch, with that baby face said he's trying.

Levitch said he really needs a winning streak for his beard to come in.

The normally clean-shaven Rick Pitino said this is his first beard and he's not liking the color gray. He's called his stylist.

A beard and a tattoo for Rick Pitino in a year's time. He said a motorcycle may be next.

It might be whatever works, but for now, not shaving looks pretty smooth.
