Louisiana Republican apologizes for kiss

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - A Louisiana Republican is apologizing this afternoon after a newspaper published video that appears to show him kissing a female staff member.

U.S. Rep. Vance McAllister, a married man with five children,and ran on a platform of family values.

He has since asked for forgiveness after a newspaper published this video showing McAllister kissing a married woman on his staff.

McAllister won a seat in the U.S. House though a special election just last November. He said he's fallen short and is asking for forgiveness from God, his wife, his children and his staff.

Rep. Eric Cantor said: "I think that his constituents deserves an apology, and I'm glad he issued an apology. I've not had a chance to speak to the congressman, so I'm going to reserve further judgment on the question.

"I will say that the American people deserve all of their representatives here in Washington to hold a very high standard of behavior and conduct."

McAllister has also made headlines for inviting "Duck Dynasty" star Willie Robertson to attend the State of the Union address.
