LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville man was arrested after police said he struck an infant in the face.
According to police, Sean Giles struck a 9-month-old infant in the face on May 7. In the police report, Giles is described as the paramour to the child's mother and police indicated that he was home alone with the child when the alleged abuse happened.
The child was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital and doctors noticed redness and swelling on the child's face.
Police said forensic exams indicated that the child's injuries were not consistent with the story Giles and the child's mother told police.
Sean Giles is charged with criminal abuse 3rd degree.
